James R. Neher, Ext. 103
Chief Investment Strategist
Born and raised in Elkhart, Indiana, James (Jim) R. Neher attended Indiana University where he majored in Business Administration. During his college years, he was very successful in the music/entertainment industry, which led Jim to acquire his first business, a retail music store near his hometown. In the first ten years, the business grew to seven stores, all located in strategic markets in Indiana and Michigan. The success of the music stores allowed Jim, and his father-in-law, to acquire a thermoformed plastic manufacturing business, in which Jim was the President & CEO. This new venture grew to two operations, one in Dallas and another in Indiana. Over the years, Jim expanded the business to include a laminated textile division. The partners sold the plastics business to their largest client in 1985, but kept the laminated textile division. After four years of continuous growth, Jim sold the laminated textile company to Velcro USA, Inc. Jim consulted with Velcro USA over the next five years and was instrumental in expanding the operation to three times its size and added three more plants. During the mid 1980s, while investing in the stock market, Jim focused and expanded on the rewards of covered option sales on his own stock holdings. Because of the overwhelming success of this trading, Jim resigned from his consulting duties at Velcro USA and relocated to Naples, Florida. In 2002, he opened the registered investment advisor company, QFA. With this new firm, Jim began to manage assets for several high net worth clients and specialized in the creation of option income. In early 2004, Jim’s son, Jeff, joined the growing firm which now manages in excess of $100 million of client and institutional funds. Jim maintains a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 65 Investment Advisor license.
